Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect from Career Rescue?
You can expect honest conversations, practical support and the space to talk openly about where you are right now and what you want to achieve.
I'll listen, ask thoughtful questions and offer straightforward feedback from a recruitment perspective. I'll help you reconnect with your strengths, explore your challenges and work towards steps that feel achievable.
There is no judgment and no one-size-fits-all formula. We start with you.
How do coaching sessions work?
We'll start with a free 20-minute introductory call to discuss what brought you here and decide whether Career Rescue is the right fit for you.
Our first session is an opportunity to understand your goals, priorities and what you'd like to achieve through the coaching process. We will discuss your current situation, identify the areas where you'd like support and agree on practical steps ahead.
Our follow-up sessions build on that foundation. We'll review your progress, work through the agreed areas of focus and adjust our plan as needed.
The aim is for you to leave each session knowing what to focus on next and understanding how it supports your goals.
How can Career Rescue NZ improve my job search?
A successful job search isn't just about sending hundreds of applications. It's about understanding what you would bring to the advertised role, knowing how to communicate it confidently, and ensuring that employers can see a potential fit.
We'll identify roles that suit your skills, experience and priorities, then develop a focused strategy for finding and approaching those opportunities.
Depending on your needs, we can review your CV, LinkedIn profile, current applications and interview approach - identifying what's working well for you and where changes could make a difference.
If your career story has a few bumps in it, we'll also work out how to talk about those confidently and honestly, without allowing them to define everything else you've achieved.
What makes Career Rescue different?
I bring 25 years of recruitment experience to Career Rescue, which means I understand both sides of the hiring process. Not only do I know what recruiters and employers are looking for, but I also know that a whole career rarely fits neatly onto a CV - particularly when there is so much pressure to condense years of experience into just a few pages.
I'm particularly interested in the bits that can be harder to explain - redundancy, a difficult workplace, a career detour, time away from work, or simply reaching a point where you can read the writing on the wall and are no longer sure what comes next.
We'll look beyond the condensed version of your career and uncover the experience, achievements and value that may have been edited out along the way.
Sometimes a different perspective changes what you can see.
What do sessions cost?
We'll start with a free 20-minute introductory call so I can understand your current situation and you can decide whether Career Rescue is the right fit for you.
Your first session is $195.00 and will last an hour. We'll work through your current CV together, exploring your career history, experience, achievements and challenges. This helps me understand your current career story and identify where my support would make the most difference.
From there, I'll recommend practical next steps. These may include refreshing or rebuilding your CV, developing a focused job search strategy, or preparing for interviews. Any further work and costs will be agreed with you beforehand.
Each session is paid for individually, so you can take it one session at a time without committing to more than you feel ready for.
